George Kittle Joins Brock Purdy On Stage At Luke Combs Concert To Pound The Hell Out Of Some Beers

Music

If Rob Gronkowski is the GOAT of superstar-playing, hard-partying, life-loving personalities in the history of NFL tight ends, George Kittle can’t be far behind.

The San Francisco 49ers superstar earned his second first-team All-Pro and one of the most pivotal contributors to the Niners’ status as perpetual Super Bowl contenders.

Anyone can say what they will about how good Brock Purdy is, or how his pregame attire doesn’t stack up to the Joe Burrows of the world — cut him some slack, y’all, he’s still on that seventh-round rookie contract — it speaks volumes that Kittle thinks enough of him to hang out in an atmosphere like this.

Purdy didn’t seem to imbibe at least when the San Francisco teammates took center stage at Luke Combs‘ concert. Like a good, dutiful quarterback should carry himself though, Purdy was right there when Kittle needed him to hold his Bud Light case while he absolutely housed multiple beverages in front of the roaring crowd.

Speaking of consummate professionals like Purdy, how about Combs continuing his set without even breaking stride? All the other musicians had to stay alert while the two 49ers had their moment to shine. Such a well-executed aside from the main attraction. Couldn’t be more impressed on that front. You reach a certain point when drinking most definitely does not help as a singer. Must be old hat for Combs by this point, and let’s face it, the man is built like a tank. He can handle it.

As for Kittle’s execution of the stunt drinking, I gotta give him pretty high marks. There’s no way he was stone-cold sober before attempting the Stone Cold Steve Austin double fist to the face. In fact, Kittle got more booze into him from that movement than Steve typically did back in his WWE heyday. Mad props there. Kittle did waste a little liquid on the shotgun, which to be fair, I can’t be too critical of. I always sucked at those and feared cutting myself up on the can. Easier to just open the gullet as much as possible, stylishly hold the can to the sky post-normal tab-opening, and let it all in as fast as possible in my opinion. To each their own.

My guy Colin Cowherd, who’s been critical of Purdy in the past for wearing a backwards hat — had to check in and give the young field general his props for rocking the forward-bill look.

I’m in the pro-Purdy camp for sure, backwards hat or not. Getting your team to the NFC Championship Game and then the Super Bowl in your first two years as an NFL starter seems pretty good.

Part of the reason the larger public may not be as in on Purdy is because of his rather reserved personality. Case in point right here. Who doesn’t love George Kittle? Glad to see the guys cutting it loose in the offseason. Let’s just say among the stars Netflix is following for their next NFL documentary series Receiver, Kittle is the one I’m most eagerly anticipating. At least for now, it’s good vibes all over the place in Niner Land.

@alexleavenworth My favorite thing to happen at Levi’s Stadium is Brock Purdy and George Kittle shotgunning a beer with Luke Combs… Well, really it was just Kittle. 😂🍻🎶 @San Francisco 49ers @@Luke Combs@@George Kittle@@NBC Sports Bay Area & CA##fyp##lukecombs##levisstadium##brockpurdy##georgekittle##49ers ♬ original sound – Alex Leavenworth
