“Anything With Garth” – Jelly Roll Campaigns Hard For Dream Duet With Garth Brooks

Music

What does Jelly Roll have to do to get a Garth Brooks collaboration?

There’s no doubt that Jelly, whose actual name is Jason Bradley DeFord, is one of the biggest stars in all of music right now. The rapper-turned-country-artist is a certified hitmaker, and just snagged his fifth number one on country radio with his single “Halfway to Hell.”

Jelly Roll also fulfilled a lifelong dream of his during CMA Fest in Nashville when he performed as the headliner at Nissan Stadium. Hours before he went on stage, he made sure to let his social media followers know how much the moment and opportunity meant to him:

“Tonight, I close the show at Nissan Stadium. I have been a Tennessee Titans fan ever since they came to Nashville. I remember watching them build the same stadium…

I remember going to the first game at the stadium with my father. God rest his soul. 11 pm tonight. I fulfill a lifelong dream.”

Throughout his storied (one hell of a story at that) career, Jelly Roll has collaborated with other popular artists for some very successful projects. You obviously can’t say “duet” and “Jelly Roll” in the same sentence without mentioning he and Lainey Wilson’s emotional song “Save Me.” And more recently, the Nashville native even helped out legendary hip-hop artist Eminem in a surprise duet of “Sing for the Moment” that no one saw coming.

But even with all of the collaborations that Jelly Roll already has under his belt, there’s still one out there that he’s dying to have happen, and he let it be known when he spoke with Good Morning America during CMA Fest:

“I still wanna record a song with Garth Brooks. I’m still campaigning, like, don’t let my career end without me and Garth getting one in.

Even if we just sung one together in a show, like, just anything with Garth, you know what I mean?”

Oh, we know what you mean Jelly Roll.

I’ll admit… I’d be really interested in hearing a Garth Brooks and Jelly Roll duet. On one side, you’ve got a guy who has been in and out of jail for a lot of his life, and on the other, you’ve got a guy that should be in jail right now… if you ask Tom Segura.

It’s a joke people, relax…

But anyways, later on in the interview, Jelly Roll doubled down on his desire to get in the studio with Garth, and he wasn’t afraid to wear his emotions on his sleeve:

“Garth, we know each other. I love you. You just gotta ask for it, man, that’s what I’ve learned. If you’re just honest with people about what you want, sometimes it happens.”

Here’s to hoping that Garth gets wind of the request, and the duet happens sooner rather than later…

Not gonna lie, them meeting each other for the first time was pretty adorable… look at that Jelly Roll bear hug:
