Randy Montana is the real deal.
A veteran in the industry, over the past decade he’s Randy has secured more than his fair share of album cuts from impressively big names in country music. From George Strait to Jon Pardi, Luke Combs to Justin Moore, Randy has written hits for everybody.
But this year, his stock skyrocketed with some of the biggest hits of the year.
Son of beloved songwriter Billy Montana (who has written songs for Garth, Kenny Rogers, Tim McGraw, and more), Randy was raised with some big shoes to fill.
Although 2020 may not have been the greatest year (for a number of reasons), it has definitely been a career year for Randy. He cowrote “I Hope You’re Happy Now” alongside Carly Pearce, Luke Combs, and Jonathan Singleton which became a #1 single for Carly Pearce and Lee Brice this June.
Randy also appears as a writer on Luke Comb’s hit “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” along with a recent fan favorite “Better Together” from Luke’s deluxe album What You See Ain’t Always What You Get. Seems like a common trend here – Luke Combs and Randy Montana work damn well together.
Aside from his work with Luke Combs, Randy has been a frequent collaborator with a Texan that every girl (myself included) swoons over, Parker McCollum. Parker’s debut radio single “Pretty Heart,” (which just went number one by the way) as well as “Young Man’s Blues” were both penned with Randy.
“Jesus and Wranglers” from Riley Green’s latest EP, as well as a number of songs from his debut album. “For a Boat,” on Luke Bryan’s latest record were also cowritten by Randy… not bad, eh?
Like I said before, Randy has seen his fair share of success in the past, but 2020 seems like a banner year for him. Take notes Nashville.
