Takin’ it back to 1987.

34 years ago today, George Strait released Ocean Front Property, his 7th-career studio album featuring hits like “All My Ex’s Live In Texas,” “Am I Blue,” and of course, the title track “Ocean Front Property.” The album would mark its place in the country music record books as the first record to debut at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, where it would stay for five straight weeks.

The title track was written by Dean Dillon, Hank Cochran and Royce Porter, and was released ahead of the album in 1986 as the lead single. It topped the charts as well in 1987, just one song in part of an 11-song number one streak George had across the mid to late ’80s.

And the rest is history.
