Coronavirus: Hospitalizations in L.A. County down 43% from its high, 4,860 new cases and 193 new deaths reported as of Feb. 6

Hospitalizations continue to fall in L.A. County. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, reported 4,607 patients infected with the coronavirus in local hospitals as of Feb. 6. That is 194 fewer than the previous day and a 43% decrease from the Jan. 7 high of hospitalized of 8,098 patients.

The county reported 4,860 new cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 1,143,422,as of Saturday. The county reported 193 new fatalities linked to coronavirus, for a total 17,955 deaths since tracking began.

Los Angeles County has administered 1,103,110 vaccinations as of Saturday.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
