Fatal hit-and-run investigated in the Topanga area

California

LOS ANGELES — One person was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash near a neighborhood in the unincorporated Topanga area.

The crash was reported about 7:40 p.m. in the 4000 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near the Woodland Park Estates neighborhood, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig with the California Highway Patrol and the CHP’s West Valley station.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Kravig said.

All lanes on northbound and southbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard near the scene were shut down as authorities investigated the crash, Kravig said.

The CHP West Valley station asked the public to avoid the area and take alternate routes to Pacific Coast Highway and the Ventura (101) Freeway.
