The California Governor is already full-steam ahead in his campaign to beat the effort and keep his job.
Newsom has a lot of advantages: Executive orders, the bully pulpit, close friends in the White House, no clear challenger and, of course, great hair.
But Newsom also has a knack for making complex situations impenetrable. Lack of clear communication sews distrust. His attempts to combat Covid are no exception.
