With eight weeks at #1, Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous album becomes one of only six country albums to spend eight weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
Last week, Morgan became the first country artist ever to have an album spend its first seven weeks at #1.
Earning 82,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. this past week, Morgan Wallen comes in ahead of The Weeknd’s compilation album The Highlights at #2 with 52,000 equivalent album units, while Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon comes in at #3 with 42,000.
With eight weeks at the top, Morgan finds himself in the company of Garth Brooks, Billy Ray Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and the Eagles.

Of course, all of this comes on the heels of his racial slur controversy which found him suspended from his record label indefinitely, as well as pulled from a majority of country radio stations. A 2021/2022 arena tour was supposed to be in the works for this year, however that has been put on pause as well.
It was recently announced that Morgan’s concert at the LaPorte County fair this July has been canceled, however it remains to be seen if action will be taken at other festivals this summer. As of right now, Morgan is set to perform at the Country Thunder, as well as Wisconsin’s Country Jam.
Morgan recently issued an apology regarding the incident.
