Drama Makes the Music: “John Fusco & the X-Road Riders”

Music

“John The Revelator” a Divine prophet?….perhaps… but surely a Divine screenwriter, author, songwriter and singer/musician. John Fusco is responsible for “Crossroads” starring Ralph Macchio, “Young Guns”, “Hildalgo”, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny”, and the Netflix series “Marco Polo”, and now a dramatic double album “John Fusco & the X-Road Riders” with the leading track hauntingly collaborated by singer Risse Norman.

Vermont based anomaly John Fusco is drenched in talent. The 20-track album is filled with storytelling, vibrant vocals, angelic twists, bursts of color and a tenacious wizardry unmatched by very few. The band includes Cody Dickinson, Risse Norman, Sosa ‘ the Bone Doctor’ Morrow as well as Fusco. The album has a taste of concept, and elements of classic rock, pop, and soul, with a bluesy texture and a southern cowboy’s soul.

Speaking of soul, after listening to the album it is easy to recognize that John Fusco has an old soul. His songs are passionate and filled with emotion. They come not only from the heart but from somewhere else not yet known. His raspy voice exudes a sexy relevance and his art of telling a story is revolutionary. His music has an upbeat vibe and an addictive flavor. Regardless of genre favorites, Fusco taps into many genres in this album and there is something there for everyone to enjoy……
