Flames shoot out of attic in Sun Valley fire

SUN VALLEY — Firefighters extinguished a fire Sunday night inside a Sun Valley home that also burned into the attic.

The blaze inside the house on the 11100 block of Cantara Street was reported at 8:47 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart said.

The department dispatched 31 firefighters to the scene, and they knocked down the flames in about 20 minutes, Stewart said.

No injuries were reported, she said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, she added.
