When I heard the Chicago based duo’s haunting pandemic inspired song “Invisible Stranger” I realized that with the wave of change also came a new beginning. While we are all now traveling through each other’s countries, humanity seems fragile and that the wheel of our year turns quickly. For some of us our lives have changed recognizably and this song “Invisible Stranger” might serve as a historic reminder of that.
Jorie Gracen and Mario Novelli are both super accomplished musicians, songwriters and storytellers. Influenced by The Beatles, The PondHawks are praised by 600,000 loyal fans. They are a Grammy nominated band who have also made their mark on ReverbNation as the top indie band.
The band showed great courage in writing and releasing this song during a time when it would be most scrutinized. Aside from the song being a very scary warning to the world it also offers hope and inspiration. I believe people needed a song like this to be released and to help get them through these unprecedented times when the world of music and live entertainment was virtually shut down. I look forward to better times ahead and I especially look forward to the next song released by The PondHawks.
