Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 228 new cases and nine new deaths, June 3

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 228 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,244,459 as of Thursday, June 3.

Officials reported nine new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 24,364 deaths since tracking began.

There were 10 fewer hospitalizations reported since Wednesday, decreasing the official count of hospitalizations to 244, with 17% in ICU.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, more than 9,598,403 vaccine doses have been administered in Los Angeles County as of Wednesday.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
