We’ve been hearing stories about living the “outlaw” country life for years and years now.
From Willie and Waylon, to Hank Jr., George Jones, and more their music and lives perfectly summed up the wild, full throttle, lifestyle that many of our favorite country legends lived back in the day.
But what about the guys who have taken their place?
Although we don’t hear them on the radio, guys like Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Cody Jinks, and several others have carried on the outlaw spirit. And one of those other guys?
The very talented Ward Davis.
Last November, he played a show at the Bluebird in Bloomington, Indiana, and he once again proved why he has a knack for storytelling.
A good buddy of Cody Jinks, Ward discusses how the cold Nashville scene wasn’t for him, finding his music family, and shares a few some badass stories from his life in the music business.
From getting stoned with Willie Nelson (which he says is a great time), to getting rip shit drunk with pro-golfer John Daly at a Jamey Johnson fundraiser (which was NOT a good time), along with some wild stories about hypothetically burying dead hookers… Ward gives us the full, colorful story behind “Same Kind Of Crazy As Me.”
