Jamey Johnson Covering Patsy Cline’s “I Fall To Pieces” Is Incredible

Music

Even though we say it all the time, I feel like it isn’t said enough.

Jamey Johnson is in the strata of the elite.

In case you needed more proof, I found it.

Since there’s no news of a new record any time soon, I’ve been forced to scour the internet for things I haven’t yet heard, and oh boy did I strike gold.

At the 2014 Frank Brown’s International Songwriters festival in Flora-Bama, Jamey Johnson honored the great Hank Cochran by covering the hit song written by him and performed by Patsy Cline, “I Fall To Pieces”.  Originally released in 1961, Jamey’s rendition silenced a crowd which seemed, at the start, to be doing some drinking.

Not many people can pull that off. We’ve all been at bars and even concerts where people won’t stop talking no matter who’s playing what on stage, so this just proves the power Jamey’s got.

And, I have to add, it looks like he put zero effort into his appearance. This might be my favorite part of the entire performance. Looks like he could have been fresh off a fall day of yard work, picked up the guitar and laid down this. Unreal.

While I’d love some new music, these finds are almost just as good and certainly will keep me going while we wait.
