PANORAMA CITY — A major emergency fire damaged a commercial building in Panorama City early Friday morning, but no one was hurt.
At least 105 firefighters fought the blaze at the one-story structure on the 14600 block of Titus Street that was reported at 12:09 a.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Crews found heavy fire conditions when they first arrived, Prange said.
Firefighters stopped the forward progress of the flames by 2:20 a.m., and some personnel remained on scene afterward, looking for hot spots, the LAFD reported.
“While no official ‘knockdown’ has been declared by the incident commander due to inaccessible pockets of fire within the debris, firefighters are commencing overhaul operations and will eventually leave a fire company on ‘fire watch’ through the morning,” Prange said in a statement.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
