Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 1,535 new cases and 28 more deaths, Sept. 30

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 1,535 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,459,182 as of Thursday, Sept. 30. The total number of cases represents 14.4% of Los Angeles County’s population.

Officials reported 28 more deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total of 26,106 deaths since tracking began. The total number of deaths represents 0.26% of Los Angeles County’s population.

There were 20 fewer hospitalizations reported since Wednesday, bringing the offical count to 872.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 69% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated and more than 12,684,261 vaccine doses have been administered as of Sept. 30.
