Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Says He’d Like To Record A Country Song With Jamey Johnson

Music

Can ya smell what The Rock is cookin?

Dwayne Johnson is a former collegiate football player, professional wrestler, A-list actor, and has even made a little music.

There’s a reason why he’s one of the most likeable celebrities in the game right now.

However, did you know the guy is a fan of country music?

Believe it or not, he’s a HUGE fan of more traditional artists like Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks, and more. He even lived in Nashville for a while, and considered performing on Broadway.

Johnson sat down for an interview with Billboard to discuss his recent rap debut, discussing his experiences in the studio, who he’s worked with, and his expectations from the work.

And he even added a little statement about his love for traditional/outlaw country. And more than just loving the genre, The Rock says he’d like to record a country song someday:

“My love for hip-hop goes back from day one, and I love traditional and outlaw country music.

I think there’s something down the road where I may collaborate with some artists in that genre as well. Some of those guys are my friends– like, for example, Jamey Johnson, Mickey Lamantia, Gethen Jenkins.

There’s a real authenticity there, and, you know, maybe I could pick up my guitar.”

A collab with Jamey Johnson and The Rock??

I’m here for it.

Remember when he performed Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough To Take My Man” for the movie Be Cool?

That was… something.
