Everybody, try to remain calm, BUT…
Evan Felker is officially hitting the stage again.
Yes, it’s true. He’ll be performing live THIS Thursday as a part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Virtual Concert Series in an effort to raise money for the North Texas chapter that’s based in Dallas.
The event also includes an afternoon golf tournament called the Breathe Easy Invitational, but the concert with Evan kicks off at 7:30pm and will be live streamed.
In a tweet by fellow musician Rhett Miller, frontman of the Old 97’s, he confirmed that Evan would be joining him on stage:
“Evan Felker is back. If you’re a @TpTroubadours fan you’ve missed this guy.
This Thursday night Evan will be joining me for the CF Concert Series @cff_northtexas benefit. We are working to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis.”

Of course, Evan is the frontman of the Turnpike Troubadours, who have been on an indefinite hiatus since the spring of 2019. For the past couple years, Evan has taken a step back from music to focus on getting help with his alcohol addiction.
Thankfully, it sounds like he was able to find sobriety and is healthier and happier than ever. He even threw around the idea of touring again one day.
His wife, Staci, has said before that she thinks he’ll get back to performing at some point, but seeing as the couple just welcomed a baby girl back in March, they’ve been pretty busy adjusting to life as new parents.
Evan performed at another benefit concert with the Teague Brothers Band at the Pipkin Ranch in Beaumont, Texas in February, but other than that, we haven’t seen him on stage in an official capacity (that we know of or was filmed) in quite some time.
It sounds like Evan will not be joined by the entire band for this particular event, but hopefully, it’s just the beginning of much more to come. Nothing official has been announced in terms of any sort of band reunion, but regardless, it will be great to see him doing what he does best once again.
