Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights, begins at sundown on Nov. 28 and ends at sundown on Dec. 6. Three blessings are recited before one candle is lit on the hanukkiah, the special nine-branch menorah, on the first night of the festival (an extra candle is used to light additional candles on each night). In the file photo, Rabbi Dennis Linson assists members of Temple Judea as they light a 12-foot-tall menorah on the last day of Hanukkah in Laguna Woods, CA on Sunday, December 29, 2019.
