Throwback To Ryan Bingham’s Acoustic Performance Of “Wolves” For ‘Yellowstone’

Music

For my money, Yellowstone is by far the best show on TV right now.

From the gorgeous scenery, to the fierce family ties, the sacrifices and the political conflicts, to the cowboy lifestyle… there’s just so much too it.

But the piece that really puts it all together is the music. I mean, come on with it. Whiskey Myers, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Sturgill, and of course, Ryan Bingham, it really doesn’t get much better than that.

Of course, Ryan Bingham also stars in the show as Walker, a drifting rancher fresh out of jail who ends up on the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch and, well I won’t spoil anything for those who don’t know.

Ryan’s character joined the show back in Season 1, and while in the area for the Under the Big Sky Festival in Whitefish, Montana stopped by for an acoustic performance of  “Wolves”, the lead single from his 2019 album American Love Song.

The song is an allusion to the hard life he had growing up, whether it was being bullied at school, his mother dying of alcohol abuse and his father committing suicide, but ultimately, it was inspired by the tragic shooting at Parkland, Florida.

It also somewhat ties to his character in the show, who many times stands up for himself despite the possibility of it really backfiring on him.

“Would not take no more
Had my fill
Stars had faded from my eyes
And run from looks that kill
There was no one comin’ around
To save me from the fray
I had to stand my ground
And keep the wolves at bay.”

A beautiful performance of a beautiful song by a hell of an artist and actor.

Can’t wait to finish up Season 4…
