A three-time Grammy nominee, a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and a songwriter whose songs were cut by everybody from Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, to Charley Pride, the Oak Ridge Boys, Elvis Presley, George Strait, Emmylou Harris, Gene Watson, Tanya Tucker, Bobby Bare, and more, Dallas Frazier’s has a country music resume that few can rival.

In 1966, Dallas secured his first Grammy nomination for “There Goes My Everything,” a big hit for Jack Greene, and then in 1968, George Jones recorded an entire album of Dallas Frazier songs called Sings the Songs of Dallas Frazier.

In 1970, Frazier earned his second Grammy nomination for Best Country Song for “All I Have to Offer You (Is Me),” a chart-topping hit for Charley Pride.

And finally, Frazier locked in his third career Grammy nomination when The Oak Ridge boys cuts “Elvira” for their 1981 album, Fancy Free. Their cover hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart and #5 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to the number of songs that he wrote, he had 8 of his own songs appear on the country music charts.

In 1988, Frazier left the music industry and became a pastor.

RIP Dallas
