He’s back.
We all remember the “yodel kid” Mason Ramsey, right?
He shot to fame back in 2018 when a video of him singing the Hank Williams classic “Lovesick Blues” back in Walmart went viral and took the internet by storm.
He was the newest sensation in country music there for awhile, popping up in Burger King commercials singing about cow farts, shooting his shot at Millie Bobby Brown, and doing remixes of “Old Town Road” with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus. (Times really were simpler back then, weren’t they?)
And who can forget Ramsey’s absolutely ELECTRIC appearance at the 2019 CMA Fest?
Just shootin’ finger guns all over the place. Kid was on top of the world
But the last we saw of Mason Ramsey he was getting crowd surfed on an inflatable horse by a sold-out crowd in Nashville.

And after that he just kind of…disappeared.
Well folks, worry no more, because I’m happy to report the Yodel Kid is officially BACK.
Mason posted his first Instagram in almost a year this past week, posting a picture on a jet ski and reassuring fans that the 15-year old has big plans for 2022.
“Sorry I’ve been so quiet on social media lately. I’ve been living my life and took a step back from everything for a bit. I’m 15 now and a lot has changed since that day in Walmart. Hang tight because I’ve got big plans for 2022.”
So what has Mason been up to over the past year? Well he also revealed on TikTok that he’s now working at Subway (I wonder how Burger King feels about this, the kid from their commercial working for a fast food competitor).
Mason popped back up on TikTok when his 2019 song “Before I Knew It,” written by Corey Crowder, Jon Pardi and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, started going viral with people discovering what an absolute heater it is.
@1_800getsnobitches Dancing ≠ 🅿️ but this song fs pushin
Ramsey took advantage of the renewed interest and has been duetting videos and responding to comments from behind the counter at Subway.
@masonramsey #duet with @tpose_queen
And he’s also responding to fans who are surprised that the famous Yodel Kid is now working at Subway.
@masonramsey Reply to @micahliflower don’t knock the hustle y’all 🤠
@masonramsey Reply to @uhhjanie I make the tastiest subs in town. Try me @Gordon Ramsay 🤠
Hey, like he said, don’t knock the hustle.
And sure, making $5 footlongs is a far cry from performing at the CMAs and being crowd-surfed on an inflatable horse.
But good for the kid for not being too big for his britches to get an honest job, and not just trying to ride the wave of viral fame – although it looks like he might be plotting his comeback while he’s back there whipping up oven-roasted turkey subs.
Stay tuned and men, hide your ladies. The Yodel Kid is coming for us all once again.
