Happy Easter.
“Amazing Grace” is arguably the most popular hymn of all time, the perfect song for Easter Sunday.
Of course, anybody who’s ever picked up a guitar and stepped into a church has probably performed it before, and that includes just about everybody in country music.
We’ve heard version from Travis Tritt, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, and many, many more, but for my money, Alan Jackson’s performance in an empty Ryman Auditorium might just be the most beautiful rendition ever.
He is risen, indeed…
Ashley McBryde Delivers Stunning Performance Of “Amazing Grace” At The Ryman
Another great performance comes to us from Ashley McBryde.
Ashley stepped onto the hallowed ground of the Ryman Auditorium for a bone-chilling a capella rendition of the classic hymn, “Amazing Grace.”
Not a song she would typically have in her repertoire, but given the circumstances, now was as good a time as any.
“I had the opportunity to honor all we’ve lost at the Ryman this week and I tried my best…7 times in a row. I really tried…
Some things just can’t be healed. Some losses can’t be reconciled and some wounds will never heal. Sometimes we don’t get closure the way we want to.
All we can do is honor our predecessors and hope that we touch the hem of heaven sometime in our lives.
I wouldn’t normally sing this song but we all may need this right now and there isn’t a better place to sing it at than the Ryman. The mother church pulls things like that out of you and will tell you what to sing and when to sing it…even if you can’t. Love to you all.”
Goosebumps.
