The 2022 graduates at Los Angeles Valley College were cheered by family and friends at the 9 a.m. June 7 Commencement ceremony in Monarch Stadium on the Valley Glen campus.
There were 1,486 graduates for this year’s ceremony. Commencement speakers included Matthew Royer and Kristin Yegoyan, both members of the 2022 graduating class.
The two-year community college, founded in 1949, is part of the nine colleges of the Los Angeles Community College District (https://www.laccd.edu/Pages/default.aspx).
Fun facts: the Monarch Lion is the mascot; the sports teams are called the “Monarchs”; the college’s colors, green and gold, were chosen by the 1949 inaugural class.
