The second annual fireworks collection by the city of Los Angeles is scheduled on Saturday, July 2, at Brand Park in Mission Hills. The event is sponsored by the office of Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.

The use of all fireworks is illegal in the city of Los Angeles — including the “Safe and Sane” labeled fireworks.

The anonymous collection will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Place the fireworks in the trunk of your vehicle before arriving at the park. A gift card, while supplies last, will be given out with the drop-off.

The buy-back event will be held in the parking lot at Brand Park, 15121 S. Brand Blvd., Mission Hills.
