No one is more excited than me that Morgan Wade is dropping her Acoustic Sessions EP tomorrow.
Seriously, I’ve been wanting this since she posted a little video of herself front porch pickin’, doing an acoustic version of her current single “Wilder Days” back in March.
And today, she’s sharing another acoustic video of an unreleased song called “Crossing State Lines,” which she says may or may not be on the EP tomorrow… but, thankfully, it most likely will be there tonight at midnight.
“Crossing State Lines” is actually one she’s had in her back pocket for a while now, and she’s played it here and there at live shows for quite some time.
A good old fashioned breakup song, it’s easy to see why this one has become a fan-favorite, and I can’t wait to get to listen to the whole thing come tomorrow:
“I’m not saying Crossing State Lines is on the Acoustic Sessions EP out tomorrow, but I’m also not saying it’s not…”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, her gritty, raspy voice is just too damn good and will absolutely shine on an acoustic project like this:
Here’s just a sample of all the good stuff we have to look forward to and seem likely to make the final cut for this EP, all from her phenomenal 2021 debut studio album Reckless, starting with the aforementioned “Wilder Days”:
And a little “Run”:
Lastly, her incredible, stripped-back version of “Mend”:
