Summer heat alert brings about cooling center options to beat the heat in the city of San Fernando and LA

The City of San Fernando issued a heat alert on Tuesday and an option for the public to take advantage of a cooling center at Las Palmas Park.

The Las Palmas Park cooling center is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today and daily through Sept. 5, Labor Day. According to the city’s Alert San Fernando webpage, a cooling center in the city will be opened when a 100 degrees temperature mark registers.
