Government offices, courts, libraries and schools — Los Angeles city and county, national and state — are closed for Labor Day.
Here is a sampling of other services that are closed, have altered service or a regular schedule on Monday.
Banks: Closed, as are New York Stock Exchange markets (www.nyse.com/markets/hours-calendars).
Libraries: Closed. Los Angeles City Library (www.lapl.org/holiday-closures), and Los Angles County Library (lacountylibrary.org/).
Mail: The U.S. Postal Service does not deliver mail and post offices are closed (about.usps.com/newsroom/events; www.usps.com)
Transit: Buses and subway services in Los Angeles run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday. For example, the G Line (Orange Line): bit.ly/3NoxBiJ; www.metro.net). Metrolink trains operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday on the Ventura County and Antelope Valley lines. There will be a modified Saturday schedule for the Inland Empire-Orange County Line. Trash: Pickup schedule in Los Angeles will be delayed by one day: Monday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday’s trash will be picked up on Wednesday, and so on through the week (800-773-2489; click on What We Do, then Collection and then see Holiday Trash Collection here: www.lacitysan.org).
