Can’t say enough good things about Luke Combs, man.
The dude is just a class act.
Back in July, he brought a teenager with terminal cancer on stage to sing his hit song “Better Together,” he surprised another terminally ill young man with concert tickets and a full backstage experience, and also paid off funeral expenses for the three people who died at the Faster Horses Festival last year.
Humble, generous, compassionate… the man is just a good dude.
Last night, Luke kicked off his Middle Of Somewhere Tour in Bangor, Maine, at the Maine Savings Amphitheater, and right before a performance of “Does To Me,” he spotted a sign.
The sign read:
“We made $100 bucks stacking 5 cords of wood, bought two Luke Combs tickets… man, he sounds good. Our dads swore it was a waste of time but they were wrong.
Today’s my 12th birthday, oh Lord when it rains it pours.”
And if you’re not familiar with a cord of wood, it’s a lot. We’re talking at least a 4 foot by 8 foot, tightly-packed stack of logs… and these two youngsters piled up five of them so they could make a couple hundred bucks for Luke Combs tickets.
So Luke, being the aforementioned good dude that he is, pulled out his wallet and paid them back.
Although, Luke only had about $140 on him so he signed some stuff and then promised to take the boys backstage after the show, hang out a bit, and pay them back for the rest.
