Local VIPs, including LA Metro board member and Inglewood Mayor James Butts, LA Metro board member Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker and LA Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins and others gathered for the dedication of the Downtown Inglewood Station on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The station is part of the the soon-to-be operational K Line, originally called the Crenshaw Line.
The new 8.5-mile, $2.1 billion train line, which serves West Adams, Jefferson Park, Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Inglewood and Westchester will open sometime this fall.
Also, the K Line will connect to the Metro E Line (Expo), which travels between downtown LA and Santa Monica.
An exact opening date has not been released, said Patrick Chandler, LA Metro spokesman.
