Shania Twain is BACK.
After quite the layoff, the Queen of Pop Country is back to making music, dropping her brand new single “Waking Up Dreaming” today.
She initially made the announcement back on Monday, saying:
“Every time I get to announce something like this I get such a rush of adrenaline and nerves- it never gets old…
I am super excited to share with you that my new song ‘Waking Up Dreaming’ is coming out this Friday!”
Twain has had quite the year already, working on her Let’s Go! Las Vegas residency over the past couple of years, along with premiering her new Not Just A Girl documentary this past summer, yet she’s been very adamant about still working on new music.
She admitted in an Instagram post:
“I’ve spent the last couple years working away on new music… on my documentary… on the Vegas residency and it’s been such a creatively fulfilling time for me, I can’t wait for this next chapter and ‘Waking Up Dreaming’ is just the start.”
“Waking Up Dreaming” is an up-tempo, fun song that almost has a borderline ’80s feel to it, and it seems like ol’ Shania hasn’t missed a beat over the years.
