WOODLAND HILLS — A 21-year-old motorist suspected of causing a fiery crash in Woodland Hills that left two people dead remained hospitalized Wednesday, and police said he was facing possible criminal charges.
The two-vehicle collision was reported just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mulholland Drive and Valmar Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a Toyota Camry driven by Kevin Gonzales collided with a classic Ford Mustang occupied by two people who died at the scene of the crash.
The Mustang caught fire.
Gonzales survived the crash and was taken to a hospital in good condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Police said he faces possible criminal charges, with KTLA5 reporting that the motorist was suspected of driving under the influence.
The names of the two people who died in the crash were being withheld pending notification of relatives, according to the coroner’s office. They were described only as males.
