For those who don’t know, Chris Stapleton has had a long-standing relationship with Ram Trucks.
He’s even recorded a kickass cover of Al Green’s “I’m A Ram” for commercials, and he recently announced that he’ll be releasing the full version at the end of the week.
With that being said, it appears that Ram trucks is finally returning the favor to the star country singer…
Stapleton requested a throwback of one of Ram’s most memorable trucks of all time, and he got it and more, unveiling the Ram 2500 “Traveller” one-off.
The truck is a revved up and remodeled version of the classic 1979 Ram Palomino, which the company calls “a Stapleton favorite.”
According to Ram brand CEO, Mike Mike Koval Jr., Stapleton is more than just a partner:
“Our relationship with Chris Stapleton is special because he is not just a partner, we consider him to be a friend. He represents our shared values of hard-work, determination, and perseverance.
Our journey with Chris throughout his career is something we are extremely proud of and to see this Ram Truck collaboration come to fruition is an endeavor we will cherish for a long time.”
Ram made an announcement via Facebook, stating that the “Traveller” is a custom Ram 2500, with an exterior featuring a two-tone with a graphic stripe, bringing back shades of the classic Palomino.
The original cream and light brown shades have been adjusted for modernization, and the stripe has been redesigned to more curvy to equate the shape of a modern-day 2500.
And on the front, it features a sculptural Ram hood ornament.
The interior features dark brown leather and walnut materials, along with red flannel on the headrests in the center console, which is a tribute to the jacket Stapleton wore on his iconic Traveller album cover.
The truck won’t be made for sale, but rather used in part of a Chris Stapleton tribute in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Once the exhibit ends, Chris himself will get to drive it home.
Needless to say, I have a feeling Stapleton is pretty proud of this one.
