Luke Combs Burns Down The CMA Awards Stage With Performance Of “The Kind Of Love We Make”

Music

Luke Combs is your 2022 CMA Entertainer of the Year.

And before he took home top honors at the show Wednesday evening for the second straight year, in addition to winning the Album of the Year award for his third studio album Growin’ Up, Luke damn near burned the stage down with a performance of his recent #1 hit, “The Kind Of Love We Make.”

The song is a sweet, sappy song about doing the deed (if you couldn’t tell by the title), and was co-written by Luke along with The Brothers Hunt, Jamie Davis and Dustin Nunley.

It’s hard to say anything about the superstar that hasn’t already been said, but I will never, ever get tired of hearing his voice fill rooms with his incredible delivery.

It’s pretty hard to imagine the guy didn’t even really get into music until he was in college, but when you have the insane natural ability and inclination for music that he does, it’s easy to see how and why his career has exploded in that way over the last several years.

While the show actually included quite a few good performances this year, from a beautiful tribute to Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert lighting up the stage singin’ “Geraldene,” Chris and Morgane Stapleton and Patty Loveless delivering a show stopping rendition of “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive,” and a kickass tribute to Alan Jackson, you can always count on Mr. Combs to come through with a solid performance, as well.

Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet:

Luke is also gearing up for a massive world tour in 2023, which will include support from Riley Green, Flatland Cavalry, Lainey Wilson and Brent Cobb, as well as Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman, and possibly a few others as we get into next year considering how much ground he has to cover.

As the North Carolina native heads to already sold-out stadiums and arenas across the WORLD next year, it’s certainly one of the hottest tickets you can have to see any artist in 2023.

The guy puts on a helluva show, so if you’re lucky enough to score a ticket, it will certainly be a concert to remember.
