I’ll go ahead and confess it, I’m a big time King of the Hill guy.
I know, I know, you’re either attached to the show immediately, it’s an acquired taste, or you just can’t stand it (Basically how any TV show works), but for some reason, it’s next level comedy and I’ll die on that hill.
Maybe it’s because I can relate to the show completely, growing up in a small town in the south, and every single character that pops up reminds you of somebody in town.
And ya gotta love ol’ Hank Hill’s tough, Texas dad love to his son Bobby, constantly flaming him for being a nerd and starting it out with:
“Got dangit Bobby I’ll tell ya what.”
Or Boomhauer slaying the women around town, even though you can’t understand a damn word he says.
To even the paranoid conspiracy theorist and Hank’s best friend, Dale, who still hasn’t figured out his wife has been cheating on him with John Redcorn.
I could go on, and on.
Not to mention, creator Mike Judge teased a reboot of the show earlier this year, after a writer said in a 2021 that they were looking to bring it back, saying:
“I am sure Greg Daniels and Mike Judge will murder me for sharing this but… HELL YES.
They are in hot negotiations to bring back King of the Hill. The Trump administration made it suddenly very relevant again. The characters have all aged 15 years. The project is sooooo good. Okay I’ve said too much.”
I found myself watching the show again last night, and I couldn’t help but think about all of the notable country stars who’ve made an appearance.
Seriously, there’s a ton.
So let’s take a look at the top 10 notable country stars who made an appearance, or played a voice over on King of the Hill:
