Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 2,138 more cases and 26 more deaths, Jan. 4

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 2,138 more cases of the coronavirus since Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,640,865 as of Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Officials reported 26 more deaths linked to the coronavirus since Tuesday for a total of 34,756 deaths since tracking began.

There were 17 fewer patients since Tuesday, bringing the total number of people hospitalized with coronavirus to 1,262.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 77% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated with 21,292,185 doses administered.
