Talk about a honky tonk heater…
Randall King released a brand new music video today for his single “You In A Honky Tonk,” which was filmed at Cahoots Dancehall & Honkytonk, the home of his first headlining show in state of Tennessee.
The song is a tribute to those lovely ladies who just look better when they’re tearing up the hardwood floor of a honky tonk under the glow of the neon lights, and it could not be more authentic than coming from the west Texas crooner who has such perfect, pure and twangy vocals.
Written by Brandon Day, John King and Matt Rogers, the sultry single was included on Randall’s 2022 major label debut album Shot Glass.
He says the video is a nod to what a special place it is for him personally, as he played his first sold-out show at middle Tennessee’s last remaining true honky tonks previously.
It’s actually the second music video he’s filmed at Cahoots, the other one being “Record High”:
“In West Texas, if you don’t keep ‘em on the dance floor you aren’t doing your job. When I booked my first headlining gig in Tennessee, I couldn’t believe we pre-sold-out Cahoots Dancehall & Honky tonk.
It’s kinda become a tradition to bring these songs to life there just like I remember that first night on their stage.
First with our ‘Record High’ music video, and now, with a song named ‘You In A Honky Tonk,’ you have to go to a real honky tonk for the video.”
The video features his real life girlfriend Brittany as the bartender, as well as the creators of the now-viral TikTok line dance for the tune, who you see tearing it up on the hardwood here.
Randall said it was a no-brainer to feature them in the video:
“Naturally when it came time to shoot the music video, we had to have the ‘You In A Honky Tonk Two Step’ featured, and who better to star in this than the ones who made it famous!”
His music videos are always so well done and true to his country and honky tonk roots, so make sure you check this one out and add “You In A Honky Tonk” to your playlist ASAP:
