Luke Bryan Apologizes For Dustin Lynch Intro At Crash My Playa: “Complete Sarcasm… Those Words Were So Absurd”

Music

Welp, figured that was coming.

Luke Bryan got a little off the rails at his annual Crash My Playa Festival down in Mexico this past weekend. But isn’t that kind of the point? To get off the rails…

The 8th year of the annual festival featured two headlining nights from Luke himself, along with Dustin Lynch, Chris Stapleton, Cole Swindell, Ashley McBryde, Brian Kelley, Carly Pearce, Chase Rice and more.

You basically have a four-night country music party going on near the sandy shores of Moon Palace, Cancún… so the tequila is bound to be flowing.

But Luke Bryan probably took the shenanigans a little far while introducing his buddy Dustin Lynch on Sunday night.

Just listen to this introduction for one of Crash My Playa’s longtime regulars:

“The longest-standing representative of Crash My Playa, no one, no one has drank more liquor, no one has vomited more, no one has taken more drugs, no one has taken more IVs, no one has passed, no one has passed more STD tests than this next gentleman.”

At the end, though, he assures the crowd that Dustin has “a clean bill” and no diseases:

“He has got a clean bill, he does not have diseases, give it up for Dustin Lynch!”

@country_musicfan23 What Luke Bryan said about Dustin Lynch is absolutely uncalled for! Nobody deserves an introduction to stage like Luke did to Dustin. #dobetter #countrymusic #cmp23 #crashmyplaya #crashmyplaya2023 #lukebryan #dustinlynch #dustinlynchmusic #isaidwhatisaid #GenshinImpact34 #fyp #foryoupage #foryou #viral #viraltiktok ♬ original sound – Country Music Fan

I mean, pretty funny if you ask me… but Dustin Lynch fans didn’t think so.

Obviously, this is all some good-natured joking between really good friends, but that’s probably where it should stay… between friends.

Even if Dustin is the wild one in the group (with a clean bill of health as Luke put it), that’s probably not something you want Luke Bryan telling a crowd of people at a big music festival who might not understand the nature of the friendship.

Needless to say, the Dustin Lynch fans didn’t like it, and they took to social media to blast Luke for the move.

And now that it’s national news, Luke is setting the record straight:

“Greetings from a flooded corn field, doing a little duck hunting. I just saw where people are starting to chat about my introduction of Dustin Lynch.

Dustin Lynch is one of my dearest friends on the planet, no one respects him more than I do and that night at Playa, Sunday night, last night I get everybody out [on stage].

And my introduction of him was complete sarcasm. Those words were so absurd, I figured everybody would take it as sarcasm. Obviously, some people didn’t. I spoke to Dustin. I love him. He and I are all good and I apologize to anybody that doesn’t understand my humor and sarcasm.

It’s been going on like that down there for years. We’ll see y’all next year. Go download Dustin’s new single. Love y’all.”

Dustin himself replied to the video, saying:

“Thx for the call, love ya bro. All good. We had a lot of fun down there again with the pirates.”

Blame it on the tequila, Luke…

And for what it’s worth, what Luke said on Sunday was nowhere near as offensive as Dustin’s song, “Party Mode.”

Listen at your own risk…
