Parker McCollum Treats Terminally Ill Former Classmate To Special RodeoHouston Concert Experience

Grab the tissues.

Last week, Parker McCollum took the star-shaped stage at RodeoHouston, kicking off the rodeo’s three-week run of concerts which features a ton of other incredible headliners like Turnpike Troubadours, Cody Jink, and Ashley McBryde.

Before hitting the stage, McCollum also surprised his hometown Raising Cane’s by giving away tickets, autographs, and of course, chicken tenders.

But as much as we all love slingin’ some tendies, this story right here… will wreck you.

One of Parker’s old childhood classmates, Haley, is fighting ovarian cancer. Her husband Taylor has documented her heartbreaking journey on TikTok, and the account has garnered a ton of support.

However, back in November, in one of the most gut-wrenching videos I have ever seen, he revealed that doctors were out of treatment options and there was nothing more they could do to treat her cancer.

So, Parker took his headlining slot and made it an opportunity to do something special for Taylor, Haley and their son Weston by surprising them with stage seats for the rodeo and the concert.

Her husband shared on TikTok the day of the rodeo:

3/1/2023 Haley is still fighting. We are extremely grateful for our former classmate Parker McCollum. He made sure Haley could have an amazing Houston Rodeo concert experience.

It truly was incredible. It will definitely be something we will never forget.”

The video is so sweet.

Parker meets her son, who is grinning ear to ear, as she confesses that she wasn’t eve sure if she would have been able to take her son to his first rodeo and concert because of her health.

I fully have tears running down my face at this point in the video.

The rest of the TikTok shows clips of their family soaking in every moment of the evening, young Weston having a blast.

Seeing Parker McCollum do this for an old friend is so tender, and acts of kindness like this prove there are still good people in the world.

And keep fighting Haley… we’ll be thinking of you.
