Baseball’s biggest international tournament is getting closer to its end, with the World Baseball Classic now entering the quarterfinals.
The tournament, originally scheduled for 2021 but delayed due to the pandemic, sees 20 national teams competing all over the world (essentially baseball’s version of the FIFA World Cup). It’s now down to seven teams: Team USA, Cuba, Venezuela, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Team USA are the defending champions after winning in 2017, and will host the championship game in Miami in a few days.
