Flashback to 2006…
Taylor Swift has moved far beyond her humble country music beginnings, but selfishly I’ll admit that those first few years of T. Swift country were my favorite of hers.
And it’s nice to see her acknowledging where her famous career all started by sharing her debut hit, “Tim McGraw” on stage.
It seems like just yesterday, Taylor previewed the song for the world on the ACM stage and then walked into the crowd to introduce herself to Tim McGraw. Now, she’s earned the title of Artist of the Decade along with a slew of other impressive career milestones.
This week opened up Taylor’s much anticipated Eras Tour, which became infamous after Ticketmaster botched the opening day of ticket sales. And if you were lucky enough to score tickets, then you may also get to see Taylor throw it back to all of her eras, including country.
Footage from the opening night shows Taylor singing a simple rendition of “Tim McGraw” while playing piano, one of the 44 song performances of the night that span her 10 career albums (sheesh!), and the reaction from the crowd is understandably stoked.
And if you aren’t heading out to see Taylor in person this year, then this video is guaranteed to take you back almost two decades to a curly-haired, teenage Taylor on the ACM stage.
