Joshua Ray Walker is back in the saddle again.
The Texas singer/songwriter has quickly made a name for himself as one of the top up artists in the Texas country scene.
He burst onto the scene with his impressive debut album Wish You Were Here, and has progressively improved his craft with each album since, as his 2021 See You Next Time record was one of our favorites here at Whiskey Riff.
However, JRW has been relatively quiet since the 2021 release, but had a solid year of touring last year, where he played venues from Brooklyn to Boston alongside the Vandoliers.
With that being said, the man is back at it again, as he made his CBS Saturday Morning debut this past weekend.
While on the show, he showed off his impressive vocals, songwriting, and showmanship while playing three songs from his See You Next Time album, which included “Three Strikes,” “Sexy After Dark,” and a solo rendition of the ode to his late father, “Flash Paper.”
Although we don’t have any word on if ol’ Joshua Ray has been in the studio cooking up some new music, it’s great to see that the guy is performing in front of a massive audience on shows like CBS Saturday Morning.
It truly shows that big time TV networks are willing to show America the talent within independent country music, which speaks volumes about the future of country music itself.
Check it out.
