Here is a sampling of upcoming faith gatherings in the San Fernando Valley area.

April 8

Blessing of the Animals on Olvera Street: Archbishop José H. Gomez is scheduled to offer the blessings, 2-3 p.m. This is an all faiths and all animals event. Pets must be properly restrained on a leash or in a carrier. As an alternative, bring a photo of your pet to be blessed. The line forms at 1 p.m. in front of the Pico House at 424 N. Main St., Los Angeles. Entertainment is scheduled, noon-4 p.m. on Olvera Street. The blessing event is on Main Street between Arcadia Street and East Cesar E.
