Throwing it back to ponytail Tyler…
Tyler Childers “Whitehouse Road” took the world by storm when it first came out, and it still doesn’t get old. It especially doesn’t get old when Childers has the assistance of Sturgill Simpson on the guitar during a live performance.
This TikTok, which is from a performance at the Ryman Auditorium from 2018, shows Childers guiding the song into its guitar solo, which is then absolutely shredded by Sturgill Simpson.
Simpson is sometimes known for his slower, outlaw country style. However, don’t let that fool you, because he can play the electric guitar like nobody’s business. If you need proof, sit back and take in this head-banging guitar solo by Sturgill:

Both Childers and Simpson are beloved by country music fans, but both artists stay pretty secluded and to themselves. We haven’t heard much out of Childers since his release of Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven? last year, and Sturgill Simpson hasn’t released any new music since 2021’s The Ballad of Dood and Juanita.
However, it was recently announced that Simpson is going by the name “Johnny Blue Skies” on a project headed up the American DJ Diplo called “Use Me.” The return of Sturgill under a pseudonym? Yes, please.
As for Childers, it appears that he has been busy with some matters other than music. A recent viral TikTok showed that the talented country artist was taking up a tanning (taxidermy) class:

Hopefully we soon get to hear new music from both Simpson (AKA Johnny Blue Skies) and Childers, and it would be an unbelievable feat if they happened to do a project together.
They clearly have some country chemistry, as seen here in the full performance of “Whitehouse Road” from 2018 at the Ryman:
