Taylor Swift Announces ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ Coming In July During Nashville Show

Big news for the Swifties.

It’s Taylor Swift Week in Nashville, and the city has been overtaken by Swifties in town to see Taylor perform three sold-out shows during her Eras Tour at Taylor’s hometown Nissan Stadium.

Bars have been hosting Taylor Swift karaoke, restaurants have had Taylor Swift brunches and Taylor Swift-themed cocktail menus…hell, I was in a boot store earlier this week and the guy working said they had stocked up on extra pink and white cowboy boots for this week. Even babies in a local hospital’s NICU have been dressed up to celebrate.

Those Swifties are a hardcore bunch.

Well they’re also an observant bunch, because earlier this week, Taylor Swift fans began noticing that the lights on Nashville’s pedestrian bridge near Nissan Stadium had been covered purple, and immediately began speculating that it had to do with Taylor announcing the re-release of her 2010 album, Speak Now.

And during tonight’s concert, Taylor confirmed that they were right.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released July 7, and in addition to the 22 original songs on the album, it will also feature 6 previously-unreleased “vault songs.”

It will be the third of her previous albums that Taylor’s re-released, the result of a disagreement with her former label.

In June of 2019 Scooter Braun (you may know him as Justin Bieber’s manager) bought Big Machine Label Group and acquired all of the assets. This included every part of every song from Taylor’s time signed to the label, which he then sold to an investor.

So, long story short, she couldn’t get any of her music back and she was pissed about it.

That’s when she decided to re-record her previous albums, releasing the new “Taylor’s versions.”

Speak Now was Taylor’s third studio album, and featured hits like “Mine,” “Mean,” “Back to December,” and “Sparks Fly.”

Taylor said in a post announcing the release:

“I always looked at this album as my album, and the lump in my throat expands to a quivering voice as I say this. Thanks you to, dear reader, it finally will be.

I consider this music to be, along with your faith in me, the best thing that’s ever been mine.”

As if the Swifties weren’t already excited enough
