Hands down one of my favorite couples in country music at the moment.
The talent of Marcus King has been brought into the limelight over the past few years. With his recognizable bluesy southern rock sound, the South Carolina native has become a force to be reckoned with.
The other week King and his bride, Briley King, graced the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, performing a tune off his upcoming album Oh My Delilah, which they teased on social media a few months ago.

On top of previewing what is to come for the audience, they also threw down a cover of the John Fogerty tune (also recorded by Chris Stapleton), “Joy Of My Life.”
Written and recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty for his 1997 solo album Blue Moon Swamp, it was also featured on Chris Stapleton’s 2022 Starting Over record.
While it was Briley King’s first time gracing the Opry stage, it was not her first time joining her husband for a tune. The couple has been singing this song together over the past year while King was on tour.
Back in October of 2022, was the first time I saw a video of them performing this song down in Birmingham, Alabama.
Their voices together are amazing. Briley has a killer set of pipes, and combined with Marcus’ vocal talent, the harmonies are to die for. The acoustic cover from this show highlights the raw talent of both of them. And the admiring looks the couple flashes each other from across the stage as they sing will melt your heart.
Just as Morgane supports Chris Stapleton on his vocal efforts, the tradition of a bride supporting her groom lives on through the Kings. I hope to see more of Briley joining Marcus on stage.
Check out this fantastic cover for yourself.
