Somebody’s about to get them a new porch swing angel.
A fan at last night’s Chicago Cubs captured a picture of the moment a fan’s proposal to his girlfriend popped up on the video board at Wrigley Field.
And apparently the happy couple are fans of Muscadine Bloodline, because our guy pulled out a line from one of the group’s biggest songs, “Porch Swing Angel.”
“Porch Swing Angel” has turned into quite the anthem for couples everywhere since being released by the boys back in 2016. And it’s not hard to see why, as its lyrics paint a picture of a simple life just sitting on the porch swing with the one you love:
“Be my porch swing angel
Got my heart strings tangled
Got those eyes that’ll bring you to your knees
It’s her smile like Sundays
Been a while but one day
Yeah that girl, she’s the only thing I need”
Those seated near the couple confirmed that Geri did in fact say yes to the proposal, and it also caught the attention of Muscadine Bloodline themselves after we posted it on our social media.
The duo responded to the picture of the proposal asking for help finding the newly-engaged couple, offering them free tickets to an upcoming show in Chicago.
No word yet on whether they’ve managed to get in touch with the couple, but if Geri and her fiancé are out there, point them in Muscadine Bloodline’s direction because they’ve got a hell of an engagement present waiting on them.
Congrats to the newly-engaged couple, and may they have many happy years of sitting on the porch swing and rockin’ til it’s night.
