Koe Wetzel’s Longtime Fan-Favorite Song “Ragweed” Is Officially Certified Gold

Music

I love it when a song I love does so well.

Koe Wetzel’s fan-favorite single “Ragweed” has officially been certified Gold by the RIAA, meaning it has moved over 500,000 units since it was released a few years ago:

The song was included on Koe’s 2019 Harold Saul High album as a cool tribute to the Texas band Cross Canadian Ragweed and their influence on his career.

CCR frontman Cody Canada previously talked on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast about the impact that song had on his royalty checks (and obviously, fan interest in them ever getting back together) from their old music, which you’ll definitely want to read about HERE.

A solo write by Koe, I’m not kidding when I tell you that I had this song on repeat for actual months when HSH first came out, and it gripped my attention from the very first listen.

It has that perfect blend of grunge and country that he’s perfected over the years, with strong driving guitar riffs throughout (especially that opening) and an incredibly catchy melody.

Not to mention, it’s just fun to scream about this girls awful stepdad as loud as humanly possible.

And of course, it’s gone on to become one of Koe’s signature tunes, and is absolutely still one of my favorites to hear at a live show. It’s just one of those songs that simply never gets old.

God bless Cross Canadian Ragweed, and here’s to many more Gold records to come for Koe.

Turn it up…
