EXCLUSIVE: Nacelle, the Burbank-based production and distribution company behind The Toys and Movies That Made Us, Behind the Attraction and Biker Mice From Mars, has brought on Hud Woodle to run the company’s International Sales Division.
Woodle moves to Nacelle from GRB Studios where he served as Head of Global Sales & Acquisitions.
Woodle has held a variety of international roles over the last decade, including VP of International Program Sales at Scripps Networks International, and as Vice President of International Program Sales and Distribution and General Manager at Food Networks Asia, working in New York and Singapore. Woodle also worked at NBC Universal International Television as a sales executive for E! Entertainment, and at Tech TV in global program sales.
The move to hire Woodle comes as Nacelle is expanding its production, distribution, and toy manufacturing divisions, on the heels of major developments in the growing NacelleVerse, a shared universe of animated series aimed at reviving beloved nostalgic franchises with new shows, comics, toys and consumer products. In July at San Diego Comic-Con, Nacelle announced that Ryan Reynolds, Maximum Effort, and Fubo will be joining their Biker Mice from Mars animated series as co-producers. The series is currently in pre-production and interviewing writers. Nacelle is also producing the first season of the NacelleVerse, Robo Force: The Animated Series, which is expected to premiere in 2024. Canadian animation studio Cartoon Conrad is attached to both shows.
In August, Nacelle revealed the newest addition to the NacelleVerse, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, which will be joining Biker Mice from Mars, Robo Force, Power Lords, Sectaurs, and The Great Garloo in Nacelle’s evolving shared universe.
Additionally, Nacelle’s comedy label Comedy Dynamics, touts what it says is the largest independent catalog of stand-up comedy in the world, with specials from Tom Segura, Iliza Shlesinger, Ali Wong, Jim Gaffigan, Pete Davidson, Jimmy O. Yang, Tiffany Haddish, Larry the Cable Guy, Jinkx Monsoon, Jeff Dunham, Eddie Griffin, and more.
“The addition of Hud, is like adding rocket fuel to our ship. He will help us expand on all of our capabilities in major time of growth for Nacelle,” said Nacelle Founder and CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss. “Buckle up, it’s gonna be a fun ride!”
“Following the global success of The Center Seat: 55 Years of Trek and Icons Unearthed, I am thrilled to join the Nacelle team, and further grow its international presence,” said Woodle. “We’ve already announced Icons Unearthed: James Bond, and Discontinued, with several more new series coming soon that are sure to appeal to audiences around the world!”
