Trey Songz is facing a new sexual assault and battery lawsuit from two women for a 2015 incident, according to a filing obtained by Rolling Stone. The women claim they passed out at the R&B singer’s home in Bell Canyon, California eight years ago and woke up to him forcing himself on them.
Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, has faced similar allegations in the past. In a separate lawsuit re-filed in February, a Jane Doe claimed the singer “brutally raped” her at the Bell Canyon residence in 2016. He also was hit with a $10 million suit from a woman who claims he grabbed and exposed her breast at a pool party in 2013.
“This is yet another example of nearly decade-old allegations being repurposed to take advantage of California’s constitutionally questionable new look-back window. We look forward to vindicating Trey on the merits in court,” his lawyer Michael Freeman said in a statement sent to Rolling Stone.
“Trey Songz, cloaked in his celebrity status, believed he could act with impunity. He is wrong,” the new lawsuit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court states. “This is not just a lawsuit; it is a reckoning.”
The 17-page complaint alleges Neverson, 38, invited one of the plaintiffs to his home after noticing her in a Snapchat post. Both plaintiffs took an Uber to the residence and were forced to “relinquish” their mobile devices after giving a password, the lawsuit claims. Jane Doe A adhered to the policy, but Jane Doe B “showed reluctance, discretely concealing her phone,” it says.
The party inside included dozens of women but only three men, per the suit. Neverson allegedly suggested a “twerking contest for a $3,000 prize” and “unleashed a torrent of verbal abuse” as he “ordered” his female guests to dance, the lawsuit claims.
The filing alleges that when Jane Doe B pulled out her cell phone, a security guard purportedly swooped in to confiscate it, and Songz “firmly” escorted the women to another room, where they fell asleep, fully clothed.
The next morning, Jane Doe A “awoke to the traumatic realization” she was fully naked, with Neverson, also naked, performing non-consensual oral sex on her, the lawsuit claims. Jane Doe B allegedly woke up a few minutes later, also naked, and claims Neverson bit her breast and forced his fingers into her vagina.
When the women resisted and refused to join him in the shower, Neverson “lashed out with a venomous tirade,” screaming, “You are little fucking girls; get the fuck out of my house,” the lawsuit states.
The filing states that “Jane Doe A and Jane Doe B came to his Bell Canyon, California, residence on August 2, 2015, expecting a celebration,” adding that instead, “they were subjected to acts so heinous, so contrary to basic human decency that they defy comprehension.”
